Hey Parker, thank you for sharing your experience. I liked how you described dance as more than just an activity, but also a space for passion, friendship, and creative expression. That made it easy to understand why moving to Zoom affected your motivation so much. I agree that the design of the learning environment is important because it can engage or disengage learners depending on how well it’s structured. In my own blog post, I also discussed how I was disengaged with the course I was eager to learn due to limited autonomy or lack of connection. Your experience is identical to mine as it shows people can be disengaged if the learning environment does not suit their needs even if it’s something about what they love. I also agree with your feedback for redesigning, especially breakout rooms, feedback sessions, and visual progress sharing, which can help make the learning feel more interactive and connected.
